hi korbeone i need some help and advice about taming a iguana i just got 2 today and im researching as hard as i can about them. I also want to know what i should do to make them social.
@jbstoneking Sorry, but this isn’t good advice. Iguanas that act “tame” at the pet shop are usually sick. You want the mos alert iguana, which is most likely to be the healthiest, and work with that one every day to tame it down a bit.
if u want a tame iguanan then when you go to buy one if there is a few iguanas at the pet shop handle each of them for a few minute to see which one is the tamess to you and start from there. handling them daily

Not all iguana’s become tame. You have to handle them all the time, even when they are mean. You need to get them used to the fact that people are around them. Even after years of training, you may still end up with a mean lizard. Most iguana’s don’t tame up, no matter what people try. That being said, I’ve had both loving ones and bastards! lol, it’s all personality really.
Ur iguana is beautiful. Great color and very docil. You must spend lost of time with him. Its nice to see one this large still being well taken care of. More often than not, they are tossed aside once they get to big.
i have snakes but 2 years ago i wanted to try haveing lizard (shouldent have done that) i got a adult iguana from a expo had it a few months and it bit my finger had to go get stiched up im never touching a nother iguana LOL u have outher reptiles?
GOD!!! he is gorgeous and such a calm one too.. takes the food very gently from you! i would love to have a Iguana but i live in Denmark and it is quite a cold country + my house is hard to keep at a steady temperature because of the changing weather and we got high ceilings…
What would be the next best thing to get then a Iguana? something who does gets tame and will enjoy handeling?? I love lizards/dragons…
