Het eiland Komodo is gelegen tussen de eilanden Soembawa en Flores. Het eiland Komodo meet van noord naar zuid 36 en van oost naar west 16 km. De hoogste berg is 730 meter. Komodo behoort tot de Kleine Soenda-eilanden. Het eiland Komodo werd in 1910 ‘ingelijfd’ bij Nederlands-Indië door de Nederlandse luitenant JKH van Steyn van Hensbroek. Het aan de kust gelegen kampung Komodo is het enige dorp op het eiland Komodo. Volgens sommigen zijn de dorpelingen nazaten van verbannen misdadigers, volgens anderen zijn ze nazaten van immigranten die enkele honderden jaren geleden vanuit Sumbawa hierheen kwamen. Op Komodo en Rinca leeft de drie meter lange Komodovaraan, een prehistorisch monster. In het totaal zijn er zo’n 5000 exemplaren. Volwassen varanen eten alles wat ze kunnen vangen of doden, onder andere herten, wilde geiten en zelfs waterbuffels. Hun voorkeur genieten zwangere gehoefde dieren die ze door geur herkennen. De varaan beschikt over gifklieren. Het gif brengt een prooi van de varaan in een shocktoestand en leidt ertoe dat het bloed van het slachtoffer harder gaat stromen. Volwassen varanen zijn tussen de 170 en 180 cm lang, en wegen ongeveer 35 tot 55 kg. Vrouwtjes zijn ongeveer eenderde kleiner. Ze kunnen zestig jaar oud worden. Rinca is iets kleiner dan Komodo en net zo aantrekkelijk. Boten komen aan in de beschutte haven van Loh Kima. Het is vijf minuten wandeling door de mangroves naar het informatiecentrum in Loh Buaya. Second part: Noah wakes up and realises that Rocco is about to fight the dragon, Problem Walrus soon comes to when he realises hes going to miss it, Rocco is squaring up to Dragon and Dragon is afraid and asking Reg why the Gorilla is angry with him, Rocco the throws the dragon around and generally beats him up, he calls out to Reg to help him as hes his new friend, Reg who is having a conflict of loyalty eventually decides to interfere and stops Roccos attack, Rocco is perturbed with Reg and quizzes him as to which side he is on, Noah buts in with sage words about the Dragon being a creature that deserves to thrive and they should not side with the turtles against him, Rocco hates Dragon but Reg defends him, this leaves then with a dilemma, The Dragon makes good of his threat to eat the turtles and escapes, Problem Walrus gets a plan to feed up the Dragon so full that he has no room to eat turtles and He is sent back to the island to summon Gertie, meanwhile Doodah & crew land on Mauritius and find an ancient sleeping parrot who is old enough to remember Do-Dos but he wakes and faints at the sight of Doodah and this angers the other Parrots and they get chased out of the cave, Back on Turtle island Gertie & Mammothsbody arrive and start to mix up some Mucky Dragon Stew to feed the dragon with, but more ingredients are required, the others go search while Mammothsbody is left to stir the stew, but a crab is in there and he starts throwing out the ingredients at …
