A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Palau Perhentians, Malaysia by TravelPod blogger Mattamyhuey titled “Palau Perhentian’s – Many Hours In The Ocean” Mattamyhuey’s travel blog entry: “We moved from one wonderful beach in Thailand to another beautiful one in Malaysia. Crossed over the border on an overnight train and arrived in the peaceful Perhentian islands ready to relax in the sun. I (Amy) decided it was time to get my advanced diving certification and this was the place to do it with such cheap prices (only per dive!). It was a long three days of studying, diving and hearing lessons from my instructor. I am now officially certified to dive deeper than before, which is also exciting for Matt. We spent four days on the beach scuba diving most of the days and relaxing over BBQ on the beach. We saw some wonderful things underwater including a sunken 180 foot cargo ship. At a depth of 30 feet you could put your head into this galley that was full of air allowing you to breath underwater without your regulator underwater. It was a strange experience! Across all the dives we saw in total around 15 bamboo sharks, this is a photo we found from the same area online: Also saw lots of other poisonous fish like Lion Fish, Stone Fish, Scorpion Fish and Box Fish. After seeing the sea snake last week, we were pretty excited to continue see so many exciting things underwater.” Read and see more at: www.travelpod.com Photos from this trip: 1. “And one was there …

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Monteverde, Costa Rica by TravelPod blogger Mikeandmary titled “Monteverde” Mikeandmary’s travel blog entry: “Another drive, this time to the cloud forest at Monteverde. The route to get there consisted of about 30 miles of quite bad dirt road then good asphalt before turning onto the last 35 kms of dirt road again. The last section was a mix of good and bad, we actually arrived at our night stop at about 2 pm after 5 hours travel. We had a few places we might be able to use, the first two where no use but the third the La Colina lodge N18.18.095 W84.48.551) we could manage with a squeeze after cutting down some of the trees. We then had a look at what there is to do in the area for tomorrow. 25th – An early start with transport collecting us at 7.30 to go to Selva Park. Here we could go on the canopy zip lines, I don’t think so, or on a bridge walkway. This consisted of a forest walk going over 8 suspension bridges of varying heights and drops. The idea was to get us to walk at the level of the top of the trees so that we could see the foliage and animals that live up there. Although I was not sure about it at the start it was actually very enjoyable. Did not see any animals but could hear the Howler monkeys, saw lots of birds, butterflies and numerous different flowers and berries. After that we went on a guided tour of the Butterfly Pavilion, the guide was well informed and made the tour very interesting and once …
