This is the entry by The Worcester Massive for the 2009 DV Mission 48 hour film challenge. We won the “Spirit of DV Mission” award. The genre this year had to be weird western, the line was “Well, nobody’s perfect” and the title, was, you guessed it, The Golden Eight. We went down the comedy weird route with dodgy overdubbing and camp cowboys. As always, there were some brilliant films made and we were chuffed to bits to get a mention. Hope you like it!! Check out the dv mission website for pictures and more info.

Most of the things seen at Repticon in Memphis, Tennessee on April 30th, 2011! We both ended up buying crested geckos, I wanted a day gecko but couldn’t afford both of them as they were only sold as a pair (I am heartbroken.) We saw Emerald Swifts, something neither of us had ever heard of.. They’re absolutely gorgeous when fired up and were very cheap, ea.. Definitely on my list and almost walked out with one until the seller , (Mike Dean from Exotic Kingdom, selling arachnids) explained and demonstrated how uneasy they were to handle.. Easy to care for, didn’t recommend getting if I wanted to handle them. I’m a cuddler, so of course I had to turn down the offer. We met a nice woman who had a monitor and a python(?) and said she works at the pet co down the road, that she’d be there at 2:30.. Sure enough around 4pm we ran into her at pet co and she showed us how wild the flying gecko and tokay’s were.. Not gettin one of them anytime soon! Anyways, looking forward to Repticon in October.. Hopefully gonna see some of the other shows besides Memphis ;p Video Rating: 0 / 5
This is Kayak Domain and CDO Kayak Club 1st descent of Lower Tagoloan River on 6 Feb 2011. A longer version of the video OnealKayak uploaded to show more views along lower Tagoloan River. We started at sitio Maribojoc on the opposite river bank of Sta. Ana, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, Mindanao, Philippines. Check out the scenery of Tagoloan canyon. It’s just spectacular. We paddled about 8km in 1.5 hours in a Class 2/3 rapids. The video camera mounted on the blue Dagger GTX doesn’t do justice on the resulting video. The lower Tagoloan river is a big, wide, high volume river, thus we managed to paddle the 8km river run in a very short time. The Class 3 rapids is non-technical, so you can use a Sit-On-Top kayak. You need to watch out for cables being used by the locals in crossing the river. You can see that on this video. It’s the cable like this that the popular Flying Gecko hit it and then crash on the same river. Heads up when you are near the quarry because sometimes they pile-drive some pylons on the river and the potential of steel bars sticking out. But so far we didn’t see any of these. This was the advice of the Maribojoc guys as shown on the first part of this video. Video Rating: 5 / 5
